Who's your dark horse House candidate?
Briahna Gray and I have a new story out this evening about progressive candidates who are breaking the mold in deep red, rural districts, yet have a real shot at winning on election day. We covered some interesting candidates -- Leslie Cockburn in Virginia, J.D. Scholten in Iowa, Jess King in rural Pennsylvania, James Thompson in Kansas, Matt Morgan in the Upper Peninsula, Richard Ojeda in West Virginia -- but I’m sure we missed a bunch of others.
I do a lot of talking at you in this email, but this time I have a question for you: Who are we missing? Is there a candidate that you think is going to come from nowhere and shock the country on election night? If so, who? (You can reply directly to this email and it goes right to me, or just drop a name in here.)
And Happy Halloween! My kids now have about half a ton of candy that I’m going to hide and live on for the next few months. They don’t read this newsletter, so my secret is safe.
